Would a regular usb wireless connection adapter work on the Xbox 360?

Author: Hi, I own an xbox 360 elite, and I was wondering if I would be able to purcahse a normal usb wireless connection adapter to use internet. Would it work with my xbox? I want to spend less than 50, and be able to purchase it at a local electronic store. (not have to ship it) Thank you.
