I am 19 years old and I finally can afford to take on a cell phone plan myself. The problem that Im having is that I don’t know for myself if I can get one… Meaning do they allow a 19 year old to have a cell phone plan? Also do they do a credit check? Because I myself dont have credit. And I also have another issue… When I was younger, I used to overdraft alot on my account. The last time I overdrafted, they put me in the chexsystem. Now its hard for me to get a regular checking account. I have a 2nd chance checking account with chase, but its not like a regular checking account. Will that matter?? Please answer. Thanks!

Does Cingular wireless do a credit check if you want to get service with them? I’m 18 And i have no credit so i was just wondering, but i have a job!

i really want to know, because i am dying for a verizon wireless phone and i never had verizon as my phone carrier service, but i have no credit, actually. i dont own anything, such as to build my credit? so i really want to know. i heard sometimes they charge up to like 0 if they make you pay because of your credit? idk? i am confused and i really want this phone! can someone help me please?!

I have a Sprint phone which was activated under my sisters name but it is completely off. She shut it off bc I didnt want it under her name anymore. They will charge and activation fee and another fee because I dont want to do the credit check…Do you know how much that will be?..I read somewhere 18 to activate 150 to opt out of the credit check.

I’m getting a phone from t-mobile, but my parents don’t know when they’ll be able to order it because they don’t know if you have to pay a security deposit or get a credit check. I’m doing it through walmart.com if that makes a difference.
