Laptops have software you can download so that if it is misplaced or stolen, you can track it and recover it. I am guessing there must be something similar for GPS. What can I purchase to know it’s location?

How can you utilize the GPS system for personal use? For example, if I wanted to build my own GPS device, how can I utilize the GPS software/satellites?

I plan on buying a Garmin GPS here in the near future but i keep reading on how the Garmin GPS FM transmitter has very low power and is almost useless.Is this true?I would really like to have an FM transmitter on my new GPS and Garmin is the name i want but is the transmitter on these units really useless?Thanks.

Wondering what additional features ,beside the main functionality, are out there in different brands so that I could select a device based on my needs. i downloaded the maps from the map loader on my pc but i type in my adress and it keep saying waiting for gps and i don’t know why can someone please please help me out
