Do you still have to unlock a brand new iphone for T mobile?

Author: My friend got a brand new in the box (never open)iohone 3gs for sale.hes ganna sell it for me for 450.
i have t mobile
do i still have to unlock it even though it was never with atnt or i still have to unlock it no matter what?

yes u have to unlock it to make it work on t-mobile unfortunately u will not be able to use the 3G network because the iphone does not support t-mobile’s 3G band .. so u will only get edge speeds ..in case u dont know what edge is look it up on google … dont get me wrong u will still be able to call,n send text messages ,n use the internet but at slower speeds. .. cause edge is not that fast like 3G.. the iphone only supports the at&t 3G band in the usa that why in the usa it only works on at&t 3G not t-mobile 3G ..
